A woman who inspired her family, friends, nurses and doctors and taught them all
how a fighting spirit can improve quality of life while living with Cancer. She
had Multiple Myeloma, and outlived the disease for four and a half years, along
the way surviving a triple bypass, three major orthopedic surgeries, dengue fever
and numerous severe side effects like fluctuating thyroid and blood sugar levels,
constant sodium and potassium depletion and major hemorroids. She hated the disease
and so fought back even harder.
Mrs Thadani's fight should be an example to those battling cancer, for she showed
all how life was worth fighting for - by using whatever knowledge, tools, family
support and love one can muster.
So, to all those who are fighting this battle, be inspired and know that you can
at the very least use the tools we have here, to empower yourself to fight back
and improve your own quality of life.

Hi, my name is Nikhyl Jhangiani, and I am a 17 year old recent graduate of Edgemont Jr.Sr. High School in Edgemont, New York, and an incoming freshman at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. |
|
Since October 10th, 2008, I have been swimming laps to raise
funds in my Grandmother, Mrs. Padmi Thadani's honor. |
|
|
Through my daily swimming, I hope to create awareness of lives
cut short by cancer, and how every small effort made by each one
of us can add up and help fill the bucket for cancer research. |
To encourage me to give back to my community, my family has
pledged to donate 10c for every lap that I swim for the Riptides team, The USA swim
team and the Edgemont Jr. Sr. Varsity team and now for Case Western Reserve University. |
My goal till my 18th birthday- December 8th, 2010 is to complete swimming the 100,000 laps
of a 25 yard pool and enabling me to raise the $10,000 for Pediatric Cancer Research I pledged in 2008. |
I have chosen The Taybandz Foundation to be the recipient of this effort,
in memory of Taylor Matthews, of Edgemont Jr. Sr. High School. |
If you would like to sponsor some of my laps please .

This effort was started October 10th, 2008. Below is a tracker
of the laps I have swum per week. I average 200-250 laps per day.
