NutritionVista Global Dietetics Forum feels there is an urgent need to address this issue for developing countries such as India.
- How can the industry curb this emerging problem?
- Do we have a panel or body similar to the medical fraternity to monitor the quality of services being offered and take legal recourse against the offenders?
- Should this be addressed in consumer forums since patient/clients health is of utmost importance?
- Does IDA/ADA have the power vested in them to take action or should we get yet another body which can take action
- Should there be legislation that mandates - that at a minimum only an RD can practice counseling?

**“My responsibility includes these related problems, if I am to care adequately for the sick. I will prevent disease whenever I can, for prevention is preferable to cure. I will remember that I remain a member of society, with special obligations to all my fellow human beings, those sound of mind and body as well as the infirm. If I do not violate this oath, may I enjoy life and art, respected while I live and remembered with affection thereafter. May I always act so as to preserve the finest traditions of my calling and may I long experience the joy of healing those who seek my help.”
