How much sugar did this young couple consume that evening?
Perhaps its time to pause and think of what we eat and drink before we mindlessly
choose the easiest way out.
Dietary carbohydrates have long been associated with dyslipidemia, a lipid profile
known to increase cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk. This study reinforces previous
results that reducing the amount of added sugars one consumes is probably the easiest
modifiable risk factor there is for CVD
The study was conducted between 1999-2006 and was a cross-sectional study of approximately
6113 adults who were grouped by their intake of added sugars. The study was conducted
by the Nutrition and Health Science Program, Graduate Division of Biological and
Biomedical Sciences - Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia.
The mean results were found to be that for most participants 15.8% of their consumed calories came from added sugars
