What’s wrong with this picture?
- Ryan’s diet and exercise are typical for his age group!
- Pamela is justified in serving this food coz, as a working mother she has no time.
- Ryan doesn’t need to exercise as he is eating at home.
- The packaged foods labels claim they are low fat with fiber and no saturated fats so they are just as good as home cooked.
Convenience foods need no introduction. They are more popular than home cooked meals, addictive, satisfying, reasonably priced, and of course readily available in supermarkets or Deli’s. The demand for them is steadily increasing. All one needs to do is to have them delivered to ones doorstep, or order them at a drive through restaurant or stock up on them at the super market. What more can one ask for when one is living the life of easy living, ready to eat foods that give no hassle and make life easier.
But what we have not realized is that these packaged foods are ruining our health and in the long term will prove costly to our health.
